About Me

My photo
St. George, Utah, United States
I'm just a woman with a camera, having an outrageous time! I carry my camera like most women carry a hand-bag. I especially like (and see) beauty in forgotten things. I love OLD buildings, rusty vehicles, fences and posts and details. When I’m photographing people, I love: natural expressions. relationships. simplicity. smiles. emotion. sweetness. laughter. shyness. grumpy frowns. silly giggles. stubborness. bare feet and a neat personality that just shines.

LOCATIONS and COLORS

People often ask me for ideas on locations AND what color of clothing they should wear for a photo shoot.
I always suggest NO lettering on shirts - that's MY opinion -  but, some clients might WANT that so, I go along with it, but within reason.  I prefer earth tones OR bright, bold colors.
Fun and cute accessories/hats/jewelry are always welcome.  Let's get CREATIVE!

As far as location goes ... something that will allow good lighting and a nice array of possibilties for what comes natural during our session. I love candids and prefer not to do too much 'posing'.  Sometimes it works but, I prefer what we can do NATURALLY.
Rustic is one of my fav's; buildings, fences and even old vehicles.  Great walls with lots of color and texture. I really like a location where there are long grasses or dried weeds and fences.  Southern Utah has a never ending array of choices for your photo location and they change dramatically from season to season.
... There's a lot to think about, even before the shoot happens so, put some thought into it so you'll be satisfied with the total end result.
Keep in mind that your location and clothing color combination should "go" but, not necessarily "match."

Here are MY suggestions for clothing color combinations:

      . beige, brown and gray
      . red and brown
. solid brights or solid muted colors (shirts) with jeans
. brown, navy and bright blue
      . brown, beige and aqua
      . brown and green
. brown and pink (this is perfect for a baby girl)
      . black, red and yellow
. dark purple, beige, brown and yellow
(it sounds strange but this combinations is stunning!)
. red, white, black & gray
      . black, white and gray
      . navy, taupe and brown

The possibilities are virtually endless.
Take into consideration the groups personalities, tastes, hobbies and or interests AND imaginations.
PROPS are always welcome ....
